WHAT IS A REIKI ATTUNEMENT?

• An attunement is an empowerment ritual.
• Only Reiki Master Teachers who were attuned by other Master Teachers can pass attunements. Be ware of people selling instructions to attune oneself, this is fraudulent.
• Usui Reiki attunements are transferred through the Master Teacher's hands, using sacred symbols and other procedures.
• Contact occurs on the head, shoulders, hands, and/or back and feet during attunements.
• A typical attunement takes up to 10 minutes (but the associated instruction and practice takes much longer).
• The attunements Margo gives were prescribed by Dr. Mikao Usui and standardized by Dr. Hayashi in the early 1900's.
• Attuning procedures are highly confidential and considered sacred, thus the respectful request for closed eyes while receiving them.
• Some people have freely published the sacred Reiki symbols on the internet and in books, and this offends some Reiki practitioners. However, the symbols are powerless without a Reiki II or higher level person to activate them.
